Condition

The painting was published in Christie's, June 21, 1978, lot 198, but withdrawn prior to sale because it was not included in Bellows' record book. There is no catalogue raissonne for Bellow's watercolors or drawings for verification. This work was not included in the 1982 National Gallery show of Bellow's boxing pictures.
