Major Zachary Taylor signed Mexican War Army Safe Guard, partially printed, dated 25th April, 1847, inscribed Extract from the rules and Articles of War"Art. 55. Whosoever, belonging to the Armies of the United States, employed in foreign parts, shall force a Safe-guard, shall suffer death, not filled in, 9 3/4" x 7 3/4". Provenance: The Ephemera Collection of Joseph Rubinfine, Merritt Island, Florida.
