Lehigh County, Pennsylvania painted dower chest, inscribed Salome Gaumerin 1809, having two hearts on the lid which repeat on the front panel, centering a six pointed star over two stippled drawers, end panels with three color philphlots, all resting on ogee bracket feet, 30 1/4" h., 47 3/4" w., 22 1/4" d. Several repaired cracks to feet. One rear foot facing pieced 2 1/2". Feet overpainted. Drawer surround overpainted brown. Original brasses. Escutcheon moved.
