Lehigh County, Pennsylvania painted dower chest dated 1789, inscribed Catharina Reichner, the facade decorated with two large hearts flanking floral trees, above two drawers supported by scroll feet, 27" h., 47" w.
Lacking one breadboard end. Interior has fraktur remnants. Old dark varnish over paint. 4'' loss to drawer facing. Feet replaced. Sporadic wear, heaviest to lid.
