Large redware crock with spout, dated 1833, with overall green and speckled orange decoration, 15 3/4'' h.
Spout reattached. Small base rim chips. Small hairlines throughout body. Provenance: The Estate of Donald and Esther Shelley, Oley, PA. A related water cooler with similar cap like handles incised Smith & Jones and Slage Pottery, Zanesville is illustrated in Stradling, The Art of the Potter, page 142.
