Large Pennsylvania cutwork scherenschnitte, 19th c., decorated with concentric bands of philphlots, eagles and horses, with green, yellow, tan, and black backing, 21" x 21". This exceptionally large work remains in very good condition and comes from the iconic collection of George Horace Lorimer. Provenance: Parke-Bernet, The Collection of George Horace Lorimer, March 30, 1944, lot 408, acquired by Hattie Brunner at the sale; purchased from Brunner by Alfhild A. Brickbauer, May 1944; sold at Freemans Auction, April 24, 2004, lot 211.
