Large Pennsylvania carved and painted trick box, 19th c., decorated with a philphlot on a green ground, the box opening to reveal a leaping dog with two mechanical couples in an erotic embrace, closed - 8" h., 10 1/4" w. Sold at Christies, January 22, 1983, lot 442.
Lacking lid and grooved lip on top. One side more heavily worn.
