Lancaster, Pennsylvania painted poplar architectural dower chest, dated 1786, the façade with three floral decorated tombstone panels and barber pole surround, above three drawers, the interior with original strap hinges and a watercolor fraktur of a Hessian soldier on horseback, 27 1/2" h., 50 1/2" w.
Feet replaced. Dovetails popping out on corners. Wear to top. Original strap hinges and brasses.
