Lancaster, Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut tall case clock, ca. 1775, having a broken arch bonnet encasing an engraved brass dial, inscribed Samuel Staufer Manhm no. 25, the tympanum with an applied carved floral spray over a waist with reeded quarter columns, over a base with a shaped turtle panel, all resting on ogee feet, 102" h.
Finials and rosettes replaced. One winding hole without post and mechanism. Stars on moon dial repainted. Hinges replaced. Pook & Pook, Inc. does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition. Provenance: The Collection of Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence H. Skromme, Lancaster, PA.
