Lancaster, Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut slant front desk, ca. 1780, signed by the maker, Conrad Lind (1753-1834), with a fan carved prospect drawer and smooth quarter columns, 44 3/4'' h., 41'' w. This lot accompanied by a copy of the Magazine Antiques - May 1984 where John Snyder discusses the cabinet maker, pages 1150-1155. Provenance: Private Lancaster, Pennsylvania collection.
Losses to finish on top. Patch along hinge side of prospect door. Brasses replaced. Top drawer has an unusual secondary configuration of two short drawers. Scattered surface imperfections. Small scratches.
