John Basket Bible, 1726-1727, Oxford, The Historical part of the Holy Bible, or the Old and New Testament, including approximately fifty engraved plates, with four views per plate, several folding maps of the Holy Land, in contemporary black/dark blue morocco, with raised bands and extensive gilt decoration, gilt edges, marbled end papers, 10 3/4" x 8 1/2". Very good condition overall, binding tight, most maps creased sporadically, some with tears, front end paper with ink inscription detailing family births and marriages.
