Lafayette was wounded in the foot during the "Revolutionary War" The scene lies near West Chester in Chester County Pennsylvania Presented by the artist to his affectionate and talented pupil Esther Strobe of Strodersville, Penna.", 8" x 12".
Light vertical creases. Small 1/4" touch-up in field. Back of painting inscribed by Esther Strude of Strodesville. Backing also inscribed, possibly in artist's hand.
