Johannes Ernst Spangenberg(Southeastern Pennsylvania, active 1774-1812), ink and watercolor marriage certificate for Georg and Margaretha Schnabel with central script below three musicians and floral trees, 14 3/4" x 9 3/4". Sold at Sotheby's, May 19, 2005, lot 151. A birth certificate for their three children was sold at Pook & Pook, Inc. on September 22, 2006, lot 106.
Sporadic restoration to edges. Small edge tears and roughness. Not examined out of frame.
