Johann Conrad Gilbert(Bern Township Artist, Pennsylvania, active 1785-1820) - Taufschein, hand-drawn watercolor and ink on laid paper, for Michel Aldenderfer, 1796, Berks County, Pennsylvania, with central German script flanked by colorful yellow, red, blue, and black parrots and various stylized flowers, vines, and heart, 8 1/4" x 13" (2 hand stitched repairs).
