James Buchanan signed vellum patent letter, dated 28th, August 1847, to Christian Stoner, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for an improvement of apparatus for operating carriage brakes, with affixed US Patent Office seal, countersigned by Edmund Burke, 16" x 11 1/4". Provenance: The Ephemera Collection of Joseph Rubinfine, Merritt Island, Florida.
Folds, some fading to written text, light stains, more moderate glue residue on verso.
