J. D. Gill (Lancaster, Pennsylvania), full stock flintlock buck and ball long rifle, approximately .52 caliber, signed on barrel flat, with a carved tiger maple stock, etched brass furniture, and silver inlays, to include a large etched oval cheek rest, 43'' octagonal to round barrel.
Condition
The rifle has a 4 piece brass patchbox & is relief carved at the buttstock. The stock has been pieced together approximately 7.5" forward of the lock, the trigger guard is loose, and there is a small repair on the right side at the second barrel pin. Lock does not cock. Lock is old, but it is a replacement flintlock.
