Indian Wars era tintype, depicting two officers standing by a rail fence, one of a cavalry officer, with what appears to be two stars on shoulder boards and a single star on collar, wearing gauntlets, boots with pants tucked in and his hand resting on his sword, beside him is a first lieutenant, 2 1/4" x 3 3/8". Some fading, heavier on right side, black mark across the bottom of image appears to be a gouge, the leatherette case as found.
