Important Vibrant York County, Pennsylvania painted pine blanket chest, ca. 1870, of diminutive size, the decoration by William Heindel of Jefferson, with applied half round columns, the chest remains in a wonderful state of preservation with vibrant floral decoration on yellow panels, with red surround, 23" x 36". Formerly known as "Glen Rock" chests, a recently discovered labeled example identified the maker and where he worked. Provenance: Kelly Kinzle Antiques, New Oxford, PA, 2011.
