Important New York William & Mary gumwood gateleg dining table, ca. 1730, with demilune drop leaves overhanging a frame with a single drawer, supported by bold baluster and ring carved legs and stretchers, retaining an old Spanish brown surface, open - 28 3/4" h., 55 3/4" w., 44 1/4" d.

Condition

Top original but flipped in 19th c. Scattered wear to Spanish brown surface. Feet original but with losses. Some sporadic worm damage. Age crack to top. Provenance: The Collection of Captain Hall Jackson Tibbits (1797-1872), Long Island, NY.
