Important Manhattan, New York stoneware jug, ca. 1805, impressed N. York Commeraws Stoneware Corlears Hook, with incised cobalt swags and tassels, 14 1/2" h. Thomas Commeraw was one of America's earliest African American potters and the present example is a particularly large and fine example of his work.
