Important Lancaster, Pennsylvania Queen Anne cherry tall case clock, dated 1762, the eight-day works with a brass face, inscribed Rudy Stoner, the case with overall banded wood inlays and pewter edging, the sarcophagus with the date and initials FR ST, 100'' h. Few if any American clocks with such extensive pewter inlay are known, making this a true American rarity. A closely related case was sold by Horst Auctions and is currently in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Provenance: West Virginia estate.

Condition

One finial plinth replaced. One finial slightly reduced in height. Ogee molding between the top of bonnet and sarcophagus replaced. Feet replaced. Moon dial repainted.
