Important American scrimshaw whale tooth dated 1857, inscribed James Cravetts Whalers Providence with an oval vignette of a ship above a whale on front, the reverse with figure of Hope, 6 1/4" h.
Flakes to base. Overall Good condition. No apparent damages or repairs. Provenance: Cumberland County Historical Society.
