Hudson River Valley painted ladderback armchair, mid 18th c., with ram's horn hand holds and sausage turned stretchers, retaining a mid 19th c. black surface with gilt highlights, the reverse of top slat inscribed "Leah 1769". Descended in a Paterson, NJ family to the present owner.
Seat replaced. Break to side seat rail.
