Henry Walton (American 1820-1873), watercolor portrait of Mary Bell, aged 46 years, dated 1836, seated in a rocking chair and holding a book, signed lower center, 8 1/2" x 6 3/4". Exhibited at Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University - Artist of Ithaca: Henry Walton and His Odyssey, May 1988-January 1989.

Condition

In a period mahogany frame with small veneer loss in upper right corner, several small holes in right side of frame, small veneer patch in upper left. Light toning and foxing, overall very good.
