Group of correspondence between Howard Pyle and Edwin Markham, to include five letters from Markham to Pyle, all dated 1900, another dated 1903, and two letters back to Markham, unsigned, but seem to be from Pyle, dated 1900, together with The Man with the Hoe, and Other Poems, by Edwin Markham, illustrated by Howard Pyle, published by Doubleday & McClure Co., 1900, and a copy of The Woman of the Town, by Maria Maitland, printed in London by T Maiden for J. Roe and Ann Lemoine, containing the bookplate of Howard Pyle. Provenance: From the Collection of Dr. Fin Sparre, Wilmington, DE.

Condition

Letter in good condition overall, the two to Markham are on tissue paper, one of which has a 2 1/2'' tear and some wrinkling, The Man with the Hoe in good condition, The Woman of the Town with some light wear.
