Gold Viking ring, 9th-10th c. A.D., with solid gold wires woven into an interlaced chain pattern and tapering at the ends, ring size 10 3/4, 8.4 dwt. Provenance: Purchased in 2012 from Artemission, London. Lot includes relevant paperwork.
Condition not examined. Provenance: A Pennsylvania estate. All of the ancient art and antiquities in this sale are from the same estate. An ancient art specialist was brought in from New York to assist with authenticating and describing the pieces in the collection.
