German organ clock, mid 19th c., with five musician automatons above a painted dial, inscribed A. Pfaff Philadelphia, 30'' h., 23'' w. The Pfaff family was well known in Germany and in Philadelphia for their excellent musical instruments. This is a very rare example.
Condition
One figure with break in horn with end detached. One figure missing hand and instrument. Sporadic flaking to dial surround. Not currently functioning. Weight driven. Pook & Pook, Inc. does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition.
