George Washington signed letter, written from Headquarters West Point Augst 26th, 1779, addressed to Sir, but at the end, inscribed Governor Greene, asking for supplies for the troops in particular blankets, shirts, shoes, and hats, the letter appears to be in the hand of Alexander Hamilton. Provenance: Descended in a family from Bristol, Rhode Island.
Creases with separations at folds both horizontally and vertically, very minor toning, old tape repairs along one edge.
