George III mahogany sofa, ca. 1790, the arched back flanked by scrolled arms supported by square tapering legs terminating in brass casters. Provenance: Mrs. Franklin, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Lacking cushion. 2 braces added to cross stretcher. Repaired crack to one rear leg. Majority of frame under upholstery not examined. Fairly sturdy. Size: 36" h. (back), 17" h. (seat height), 82 1/2" w.
