George III mahogany bureau bookcase in two parts, ca. 1785, the upper section with a pediment crest centering a carved urn form finial, above a pair of glazed and mullioned cupboard doors opening to an interior with two adjustable shelves, the lower section with a fitted interior and well, above a case with two short and two long molded drawers on bracket feet, 92" h., 40 1/2" w. Provenance: Alfred Bullard.

Condition

Hinges repaired and moved on slant lid. Crack in one pane of glass. Brasses replaced. Sporadic small veneer losses and cracks. Several patches to drawer lips. Side moldings and foot facings are early replacements.
