Gallager saddle ring percussion carbine, .50 caliber at the muzzle, has been altered to a smaller caliber breech loader, caliber at the breech appears to be around .40 caliber, barrel is 22'' long.
Poor overall condition, rear sight is a primitive replacement and the breech has what appears to be some type of metal hinge, all metal is worn, lacking the percussion cap, stock shows heavy wear.
