Francis Portzline (Southeastern Pennsylvania, 1771-1857), hand-drawn watercolor and ink on paper fraktur birth and baptismal certificate for Maria Meyer, born 1822, in Washington Township, Union County, Pennsylvania, having a central heart with script flanked by birds and tulip trees, signed lower center, 12 3/4" x 15 1/2". Provenance: From a central Pennsylvania collection.
Overlaid on the front with rice paper (stabilizing several small edge tears, rice paper is intact). Several edge tear repairs. Small repairs to corners. Sporadic edge repair.
