Francis Charles Portzline(Southeastern Pennsylvania, active 1800-1855) - Taufschein, hand-drawn watercolor and ink on laid paper, for Maria Anna Conrath, Augusta Township, Northumberland County, 1826, the central heart with bright green and yellow striped border and bow arising from the top, surrounding a circle with rows of yellow, red, and black hearts flanked by 3 pairs of birds (one yellow, one red, and one green) perched on leafy branches with red and yellow tulips and yellow and black flowers, a vibrant example, 12 1/2" x 15 1/2" (some losses to edge).
