Ferguson breech loading rifle made by Durs Egg, .65 cal., 31.5" round rifled barrel with bayonet. Provenance: George C. Neuman.
Barrel & lock marked "D Egg". Fully functional lock and breech loading trigger guard. Clear marking and proofs on metal which exhibits a grey patina. Stock has numerous worm holes at checkered wrist and a crack through the lower left side from the cock to the trigger guard. Barrel has strong, 7 groove rifling. The 28 5/8 " bayonet has a 24 " blade and 4 " socket & retains some old paint residue on the surface. It is straight & has no cracks or breaks.
