Extraordinary watercolor on ivory portrait, early 19th c., of a young boy with a blue jacket with an elaborate lace collar holding an articulated wooden puppet, retaining its original red leather case, image - 3" x 2 1/2". Provenance: Philadelphia estate.
Faint scratch to background, losses to interior silk of case and surface abrasions to exterior of case.
