Exceptional Pennsylvania German painted poplar schrank, probably Berks or Montgomery County, late 18th c., the elaborate architectural cornice, multiple raised panel construction, and vivid red, yellow, and stippled green decoration establish this as one of very few robust examples of early 18th c. furniture of German design.
