Exceptional carved and painted Punch cigar store figure, late 19th c., attributed to the shop of Samuel Robb (1851-1928), retaining an excellent early polychrome decorated surface, the original base inscribed "Cigars Tobacco/Havana Cigars/Smoker's Articles", 75" h. The remarkably untouched condition of this figure establishes it as one of the most important cigar store figures extant.
Large old repair to right arm. Age crack. Minor all over wear.
