English needlework casket, mid 17th c., the lid worked with King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba in colored silks on ivory satin in raised and embroidery work, the front with women in pastoral scenes, the sides and back with raised flowers on ivory satin, opening to an interior with mirrored well, ink bottles, two tin inkwells over two drawers, all with tortoise shell borders, 7 3/4" h., 13 3/4" w., 10" d.
