English mother of pearl tea caddy, 19th c., 4 1/2'' h., 5 3/4'' w., together with a tortoiseshell caddy with a mother of pearl lid, 3 1/4'' h., 4 1/2'' w. Provenance: Property from the collection of Theodore Kapnek, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mother of pearl - missing one triangular piece on side, missing small triangular piece on lid back. Tortoise shell - has 1 1/2" crack to front, various hairlines to back, small repair to area above and below right hinge and missing small corner triangle of mother of pearl on top.
