English mahogany gimbaled stick barometer, ca. 1800, signed Bywater Dawson & Co. Liverpool, 36 1/2" h.
A crack on back in case at upper collar has old repair with a screwed on brass plate (5/8" h. x 1" w). In working order (Pook & Pook does not guarantee barometer to be in working order). Large cut-out section in shaft, probably an old repair. Provenance: Estate of Elinor Gordon, PA.
