Elizabethtown, New Jersey Chippendale mahogany tall case clock, ca. 1800, bearing the label of cabinetmaker John J. Austin, the broken arch bonnet enclosing an eight-day works with painted face over a case with fluted quarter columns and bracket feet, 96 1/2" h.
Parts: pendulum, winder, key, two weights. One finial plinth replaced. Bonnet door restored. Works possibly associated with case. Patches/losses to molding around base panel. Numbers on face repainted. Side foot facings on one side have scrolled terminals. Scrolls have been broken off of other facings. Pook & Pook, Inc. does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition. Barely legible inscription on face: Isaac Brokaw Bridge Town.
