Set of eight Philadelphia Federal mahogany dining chairs, ca. 1805, probably made in the workshop of Henry Connelly, each with a scrollwork back, with carved urn and rosettes, above an over-upholstered balloon seat supported by turned and fluted legs; nearly identical examples of the urn-and-drapery design are in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession number 44.106, and in Robert Bishop's The American Chair, example 311, p. 221. Provenance: The Estate of Christopher T. Rebollo.
