Ehre Vater Artist(Carolinas, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, active 1782-1828) - Taufschein, hand-drawn watercolor and ink on laid paper inscribed "Ehre Vater und Mutter" (Honor father and mother), made for Johannes Reichert, Bucks County, Springfield Township, Pennsylvania, dated 1796, with yellow and red script over a red, yellow, and green compass design, all intertwined with trailing vines and flowers, 15 1/2" x 13". Pictured in Fraktur Writings or Illuminated Manuscripts by Dr. Donald A. Shelley, plate 206.
