Egyptian limestone sunk relief fragment, Late Period 700-30 B.C., with hands holding a statue of Maat, the goddess of truth, 6 3/4" h. (excluding base) Provenance: A New York City collection, acquired prior to 1980 and later purchased in 2016 from Explorer Ancient Art, New York. Lot includes relevant paperwork.
Intact. No apparent damages. Provenance: A Pennsylvania estate. All of the ancient art and antiquities in this sale are from the same estate. An ancient art specialist was brought in from New York to assist with authenticating and describing the pieces in the collection.
