Don Lelooska (Kwakiutl 1933-1996), Northwest Coast Indian carved otter bowl, with inset abalone shell eyes and ears, signed on underside, 6 1/2" h., 16 1/2" l. Several Leloooska carvings were purchased by Mary Anne Normandin directly from the artist between 1970 and 2008. She was a lifelong friend of the Lelooska family and instrumental in establishing the Lalooska Foundation, and was deeply involved with the publication of two children's books as told by Don Lelooska. Mary Anne was adopted into the Kwakiutl tribe in the 1980's which was the same tribe that adopted Don in 1968. Provenance: The Estate of Mary Anne Normandin, West Linn, Oregon, 2008.
