Delaware Valley Chippendale walnut armchair, ca. 1770, the shell carved cupid's bow crest with voluted earsabove a solid vasiform splat, flanked by carved arms with voluted knuckled hand holds, above a trapezoidal slip seat resting in a scalloped frame, supported by cabriole legs with shell carved knees, terminating in ball and claw front feet. Provenance - Estate of William Proctor Green, grandson of Rebecca Fauquier of Philadelphia.
