Dauphin County, Pennsylvania painted pine dower chest, decorated by John Seltzer, dated 1808, the top with two gray grained panels on an ochre grained reserve, the front with a central panel bearing the inscription Henrey Yeckly 1808, flanked by ivory panels with tulips arising from pots, the left inscribed John Seltzer 1808, on an ochre feather grained reserve, above a three drawer base with similar decoration, all supported by straight bracket feet, retaining its original engraved grab lock and wrought iron strap hinges, 27'' h., 51'' l., 22 3/4'' d.
