Christian Beschler "Sussel Unicorn Artist" (Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, ca. 1800), pen, ink, and watercolor fraktur dated 1796, birth and baptismal certificate for Jacob Jaekle, North Umberland County, Pennsylvania, with profuse decoration of unicorn, birds, hearts, and tulips centering text, 13 1/4" x 16". Only eight taufscheine, one of them blank, one religious text, and a book-plate sized drawing are known by the artist. Don Herr discussed the artist at length in The Antiques and Fine Art Magazine, with this fraktur in Figure 9.
