China School, 19th c., oil on canvas ship painting of a four-masted barque, inscribed C.R. Grant Master Brilliant January 1844, retaining its original label on the stretcher, inscribed Hung Cheong Portrait Painter Hong Kong, 26" x 35". Provenance: John and Madeline Nies.
Heavy craquelure, sporadic touch ups throughout approx. 5%. The word "Brilliant" written in the right center sky.
