Chester County, Pennsylvania silk on linen sampler, wrought by Hannah Wentz and dated 1834, with elaborate still life of flowers surrounded by baskets of flowers and verse, over a landscape depicting two couples and dog under a tree, all surrounded by a vibrant grape and strawberry vine border, 21 1/2" x 25 1/2".
Background linen - beige (faded). 30% loss to grass along bottom edge. Colors enhanced.
